Village Arts Coalition's Mission:
The Village Arts Coalition is a non-profit, tax-exempt, educational organization, incorporated in the state of Colorado in 1988. Our mission is to promote public participation in music, dance and other folk arts in the Front Range of Colorado, to encourage expansion of these activities in the larger community, to develop facilities for these activities, and to provide services for other organizations and individuals that share these goals.
Organizations, including commercial and for-profit organizations, are welcomed if:
There is no geographic limitation on the activities of the VAC, but historically the VAC has operated along the Front Range and nearby where its group and individual members can develop a sense of community through contact and shared activities.
Benefits of your membership in the Village Arts Coalition:
1. Publicity for your Group and Activities:
A direct benefit to you is that you may list your group and your group's events on this website, as well as on our newsletter. This will immediately provide your information to all of our participants, including anyone who uses this website or STOMP!, to find out what activities and groups exist in the Colorado Front Range.
2. Supporting the Folk Arts and Dance Community:
Your membership in the VAC helps the creation of venues for dancing and other activities. It helps build awareness of the enjoyment of music, dance and folk arts. By supporting the many activities sponsored by VAC and its member groups, such as the International Festival, you help build a better community.
3. The VAC Insurance Program:
The VAC maintains a liability insurance program for itself and its member organizations. Because an increasing number of festivals, halls, and governmental organizations demand insurance coverage for events of our members that take place in their venues, this program has become ever more important. The insurance policy is for non-profit organizations only. The premium that we pay for our policy presumes that our activities are low risk. (For example, athletic activities are specifically excluded.) If insurance coverage is not appropriate, a group or individual can still be a member of the Village Arts Coalition.
4. The VAC Newsletter, STOMP!:
The STOMP! is a free bimonthly newsletter and calendar where member groups may list their regular activities and advertise special events. The STOMP! can be found in most dance venues in the Colorado Front Range, and it can be viewed here on this web site.
