Description:
Dance of the Heart is a group of dancers and teachers of Argentine Tango who share a common vision - to connect deeply with our partners and the music in pursuit of a collaborative improvisational work of "social dance" art, while having an incredibly good time doing it! TangoConnection(tm) classes represent the FASTEST way to become a confident and skilled tango dancer! Work with dedicated Dance of the Heart teachers and assistant teachers, following a fun, structured program to develop foundation skills and understanding of this passionate dance form as fast and as deeply as possible! Start anytime, no partner necessary! Honed lovingly over the last eleven years, our tango curriculum takes the process of learning tango and divides it into seven different core ideas and experiences - seven different viewpoints on the experience of dancing tango, each named for one of the great tango orchestras. Each session, we focus on one of these ideas, divide the material into two classes, and develop it as far and as fast as the students are ready to learn it. In any two-class session, anyone can start from "absolute first-time beginner" and be able to dance comfortably and confidently in social settings by the end of the session. The core ideas interlock, but are not interdependent - each class stands on its own, so if your schedule keeps you from committing to a continuous series, you can be assured that you'll be able to master everything in a coherent fashion by attending the classes when you can, and repeating material if you need to. Cost: $12 (2 for $20), practica-only for $5
Description:
Classes rotate among seven topics related to tango - start as a beginner with any topic, then add the rest when convenient - but you'll be able to dance right away no matter which class you take! At 6:30, our fundamentals class gets you started, and prepares you completely for taking the second class each session, if you're ready for more! Come at 8:00pm if you want to take your knowledge of fundamentals in a topic to the next level. Starting at 9:15, we have a guided practica until 10:30pm. Lessons $12 each, or $20 for both. Student discounts for $10 each or $16 for both. Or just attend the guided practica for only $5 (free if taking the other classes). We're very good at adjusting the material to those attending, so drop on by and see if we don't satisfy you!
